Stay productive when working remotely with Microsoft Teams

On March 10, 2020, Mr. Jared Spataro – Vice President of Microsoft 365, of Microsoft Corporation shared some suggestions to help people work from home more effectively and safely in the context of COVID -19 is booming.

This is one of Microsoft’s efforts to maintain the connection and productivity of customers, partners and the corporation itself.

GETTING STARTED WITH NEW HABITS

Set up your workspace at home – where you can work effectively and without being disturbed. Microsoft designed Teams as a virtual office so you can take it anywhere. You can get documents directly from Teams, or store information files and share them securely. You can also join calls or meetings quickly. Teams also have a background blur effect in video meetings to limit the distraction coming from the space around you.

When working from home, your daily life span may change. This is especially true for those who have to balance work and child care. Talk to your colleagues about your working hours so they know when to contact you. Or you can set status messages on Teams to proactively share time frames.

People who work from home often work without forgetting about time for exercise, light meals or socializing. This will quickly leave you stressed and exhausted. Do not forget health first. Make time for meals, drink lots of water and remind yourself to pause at the end of the day. This is not only good for your health, but also helps you to maintain long-term effective work in the long run.

KEEP CONNECTED

Remote working can make many people feel isolated. Maintain an online team schedule. Use the “General” channel on Teams to discuss issues that are of great interest.

For more crowded discussions, you can use the Microsoft Whiteboard application. This application is like a digital “whiteboard”, allowing people to collaborate directly on Teams.
